Status Report One:
a. Where you are in your process of creating your portfolio?
I am in the process of trying to find the best website creator to build my portfolio. Right now its between webs.com and weebly.com. Both sites seem fairly easy to use and create really organized pages. I have just about all of the artifacts that I want to include except for my final unit plan and the final video for The Outsiders Project.

b. What your additional categories are that you feel will best represent your identity as a beginning middle grades ELA / SS teacher?
I am having a hard time thinking of extra categories at this point but I know that I want to include a category about teachers who have inspired me to become a teacher. I am also considering putting a Political Science category because I am graduating with a minor.

c. What your initial ideas for a theme are and related design considerations?
I want to do an ocean/tree theme to represent my growth and the ocean to represent determination (and being underestimated because the ocean often is)

Status Report Two:
I decided to use Weebly.com as the site for my portfolio because it was easier for me to navigate than Webs.com. I also really like the theme templates they provided.
I have also began to upload my artifacts and I have started working on my annotated class list. I decided to use photo that I have taken rather than searching for photos online and then having to site the source of the photo. I also think that using my own photos will make my portfolio even more personal. I am still struggling with making my theme fit the layout of my site but hopefully the pictures will help tie everything together.

Status Report Three:
I have continued working on my annotated class list as well as linking the pages of my site together. I realized that I didn't have enough tree pictures to really make it a tree theme so its looking like more of an ocean theme. I have also considered adding quotes to each one of the pages, but I haven't decided what quotes I would want to use or how they would tie into my theme. I have also began to add lessons and unit plans to my pedagogical knowledge section of the weebly.

Status Report Four:
I have continued adding artifacts to the site and I have started working on my extra categories. The inspiration category has been a little difficult because I chose to include Meg and it is still difficult to find the right words to say. I am also working on sorting through my political science work to see what I should include in the portfolio. I have been looking through different pictures from The Outsiders Project and Wolfpack Writing Partners courtesy of the college of education website. I also decided to include the poems that my partner and I worked on during WPWPs (as soon as I locate the files!)

Status Report Five:
I have located the poem files and plan on adding them to my page. I also wanted to include a return to home button on my weebly to help others navigate the page better. I have almost completed the Pedagogical Knowledge section of my website besides my Unit Plan. I have also began to work on the About Me section of the site because I wanted to include something on my home page. I have started working on my resume, my philosophy of education, and my list of educational websites.

The is the link to my Electronic Portfolio page (its a work in progress!)
